Dasganu affectionately called him ' Baban'. To the extent that he made Madhavrao sit for puja and garland him, and touch his feet with devotion. Mahavrao Adkar considered and honored Das Ganu as his elder brother and had much regards for him. It was Das Ganu, who took Madhavrao Adkar to Baba Sai in Shirdi. Thus they were excellent medium for popularizing Sai's grace and stories, through their compositions and songs. Both of them had a sweet voice and sung spiritual and religious songs. Both of them regarded Shri Sai Baba as their spiritual guru. He was very good friend of Das Ganu Maharaj. Madhavrao Adkar was one of the contemporary devotees of Sai Baba of Shirdi.
